Automobile dealers across the Commonwealth recently banded together to raise $2,500 in Ambassador Grants for Hazelwild Farm’s Therapeutic Riding Program in memory of Karen Radley of Radley Automotive. Our very own GSIA Manager, Michael Allen, coordinated the presentation of the check.
Karen was known for her generosity and contributions to the community, and was admired as both a business and community leader statewide. These grants made in her memory are designed to inspire others to give back to their own communities.
Karen passed away on April 5, 2015. She served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association, including a term as Chairman and many years as Legislative Chair. She was appointed to Virginia’s Motor Vehicle Dealer Board by Governor Gilmore and served as a member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Mary Washington. Hazelwild Farm’s Therapeutic Riding Program was one of the local programs that were near and dear to her heart.
Hazelwild Farm's Therapeutic Riding Program offers specialized horseback riding lessons for all ages of riders with a wide range of physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities. The lessons serve therapeutic purposes by increasing stability, flexibility, strength, motor skills, cognitive ability & confidence for the riders, along with providing many other physical & emotional benefits.
Karen contributed substantially to our organization as well as this industry as a whole over the years, and she is greatly missed.
